Welcome to
Violet Counselling

Are you noticing a sense of feeling stuck, or finding yourself at a point where things feel uncertain or difficult to cope with? At times, even the most resilient people can feel lost, fragile, or unhappy.

Counselling isn’t about being told what to do or given solutions. It is a space we create together, where you can talk openly, explore what you are experiencing, and find your own way forward at a pace that feels right for you.

My name is Felicity and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor.

A Bit About Me

I have always felt drawn to listening to people and to offering support when emotional life feels heavy or difficult. I work in a person-centred way, believing in the importance of creating a warm, accepting relationship where you feel heard, understood, and valued as you are.

While my work is grounded in a person-centred approach, I can also offer gentle tools and techniques, such as those from CBT, if these feel supportive for you. Any work we do together is guided by your needs, your pace, and what feels right for you.

I have also been on my own journey with a counsellor, which means I understand how daunting it can feel to take that first step and reach out for support. Looking for a counsellor can bring uncertainty or vulnerability, and I hold this with care and sensitivity.

Although there can still be a stigma around mental health, I believe our emotional wellbeing is just as important as our physical health. Difficulties may not always be visible, but that does not make them any less real or deserving of compassion.

I began my counselling training in 2018, and since then I have walked alongside clients through many different life experiences including addiction, bereavement, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence and trauma.

I aim to offer a space grounded in compassion, safety, and care, where emotions can be gently explored and where people can begin to feel more settled and supported within themselves.

What is counselling?

Sessions & Fee's

Counselling - sometimes called talking therapy is a confidential, supportive space where a trained therapist listens and works alongside you. It is an opportunity to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and to find ways of coping with life’s challenges in a way that feels right for you.

Counselling can help with a wide range of difficulties, including stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, or coping with unexpected or difficult life events such as illness, bereavement, relationship breakdowns, job loss or family and financial struggles.

It is also a safe  space to gently explore emotions like anger, sadness, or low self-esteem, and to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your needs.

What happens next?

Each session lasts 50 minutes and costs £50. Sessions can be in person, or online via telephone or Zoom, whichever feels most comfortable for you.

Starting with weekly sessions can be helpful, though I understand that this may not always be possible due to other commitments or financial considerations. We can talk through what works best for you during our first session.

I believe counselling should be accessible to everyone. For those on a low income or receiving benefits, I offer a reduced rate of £40 per session between 11 am and 2 pm. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss this — I am happy to support you in finding a way to access the help you need.

Meeting someone new can feel daunting, and finding the right counsellor can feel even more challenging. My aim is to provide a space where you feel safe, heard, understood and without any judgement.

I offer a free 30-minute video session where we can gently explore a little about you, the challenges you’re facing, and what you hope to get from counselling. This is an opportunity for us to connect and see if working together feels like the right fit.

If you feel ready to continue, we can then arrange a time for your first full session. If at any point I feel I’m not the best person to support you, I will offer some suggestions and alternative options to help you find the support you need.

“When you are in psychological distress and someone really hears you without passing judgement on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mold you, it feels damn good!”
